id Rage: Preview and new Trailer
Written by  Spirit - Friday, 06 May 2011  (1 Comments )

Nowadays, whenever we feel like playing a videogame, we have a multitude of different genres and many options to choose from in each genre. There were times when things weren't exactly like that and id Software had in important role in the FPS world with Doom and Quake. Many of today's good Counter-Strike players, for instance, were initiated in the videogames culture by playing Quake and here at K1ck eSports Club, the game is easily associated with our very own roots, back in 1998.

Now id Software will be releasing Rage, scheduled for September the 13th for PC, Playstation 3 plus XBox 360, and as always we are expecting a great game. Check out the Preview and the Shrouded Gameplay Trailer.

Rage id Software

From what we've seen, the action is somewhere in the future in a some sort of Mad Max scenario, with mutants that sound just like pigs and monsters that vomit goo all over your face, making it hard to see what's going on. By this time you might have guessed that this isn't a game for everyone, as chopping heads with a kind of boomerang with knifes weapon isn't probably suitable for the youngest gamers.

Here is the Preview video that gametrailers.com has published:

The engine behind this game is the amazing id's Tech 5, running at a framerate that's so high that it won't even matter anymore, plus offering amazing and realistic textures that will impress even the most short sited gamers. Presenting very strong arguments to be the Game of the Year, specially to those of love the id games fast paced action and disgusting creatures, Rage comes with racing modes where the player controls vehicles in a quite easy fashion, running around tracks and beating the crap out of everything that moves, as usual. And stands still, just in case. Here is the Shrouded Gameplay Trailer:

All in all, id software has been delivering top games for decades and Rage seems to be another good enough game to stand for the company's reputation in this market. If you get impressed with gore or horror in a videogame then this game is the right therapy as it's about time to get past your repulse or fear or whatever makes you avoid funny horror movies.

"At the end of the World, a few survivors must fend for their lives and a chance at survival for the human race."
