The new League of Legends patch 3.13 has a lot of changes in several champions, plus the minor bugs fixes and Mana Cost Reductions on Ultimates for some champions. It includes the Harrowing skins, changes that allow Riot to dynamically provide “Loss Forgiven” to servers experiencing hardware or connection issues and improved champ select timer accuracy.
Battlefield 4 is now available in the US for Windows and consoles, and along with DICE's latest installment of the military shooter series comes a load of reviews. In the same way as it happened with Battlefield 3, there is also a rather meaty day one update weighing in at 119.21 MB, yet to be explained what it does exactly.
The League of Legends Season 3 will come to an end on November 11th and some of the new features and changes for Season 4 are already being discussed over at the forums. Riot Games have posted some of the ways LoL will be changed ready for Season 4 on the official League Of Legends website, describing their approach as a way to "refine League of Legends" but at the same time "creating a deeper, clearer and more satisfying player experience."
Once again we have returned to a topic that our readers appreciate right here at k1ck.com. We go after eSports people, whether they are players, staff, shoutcasters, brand managers, resellers, store owners or whatever eSports related, and ask them 7 questions. Today we bring you Xavi "Aguila" Sabi, a player from our K1ck Counter-Strike Global Offensive team that recently won the Portuguese ESWC.
One of the most famous League of Legends players in the world, Carlos "ocelote" Santiago, has been interviewed by the Spanish newspaper ABC and has revealed, among other interesting things, that he earns something between €600,000 and €700,000 annually (close to $1M) from the tournament winnings, merchandising income, salary, live streaming games and personal sponsors.
Something that everybody was expecting to happen in League of Legends was announced by Riot, as they have introduced the Team Builder concept into the game. This new role selection tool lets the players choose their role of champion before the champion select, building a balanced team where everyone’s in agreement, instead of creating a flame war each time you want a role that is already taken. The company behind the game that has a playerbase of 32 million monthly active players (11 million last November), is always trying to offer a better game experience to the gamers, paying close attention to the general public opinion.
Some time ago, Valve has announced that the Steam Universe would be expanding in 2014 and promised three revelations, as they are working on even more ways to connect the dots for customers who want Steam in the living-room. Two are already out of the bag and as the time of writing, we will have to wait 26 hours to find out more about the third one, but what we already know is that a revolution is on its way.
Steam OS and Steam Machines are words that will probably become popular in a near future, for the new Valve Linux-based free operating system built around Steam itself, designed for the TV and the living room, will provide seamless access to over 2 000 titles, allowing users to stream games from their main PC or Mac to the living room TV.
** UPDATE **
We know now that the third revelation that Valve has promised is the Steam Controller, a new way to play the entire Steam library from the sofa. This gamepad is a new kind of input technology that will work with all the games on Steam: past, present, and future, featuring a touch screen, dual trackpads and much more. Check out the first demonstration video:
Since Counter-Strike Global Offensive was published back in August 2012 that controversy has been following the game, as it was a clear attempt from Valve to dwindle the relevance of CS 1.6 and CSS among the general public and also in the eSports world. As it usually happens with something polemic and open for discussion, there were lovers, haters, those who didn't give a crap about the game, the nut jobs and the average gamers, but they all knew one thing: CS:GO was here to stay.
Now that the qualifiers have come to an end, the list with the teams that will be competing in the MSI Beat it! Now that the League of Legends Championship Series Season 3 is over and SK Telecom T1 has been crowned as the best team on the planet, more exciting news for the 2014 season have been revealed by Riot. In fact they will be running a league for the Challenger tier of competitive play in LoL, which is always a good news, but the best part is that Coca Cola (or Coke) Zero is the chosen partner. This new still unnamed league will run in Europe and United States alongside next year's LCS and will be a gateway to LCS for the top ranked Challenger players.
