If you want to play a good game of chess in the internet, then Internet Chess Club is your obvious choice. But be careful because researchers at the University of Colorado at Boulder have been able to defeat their security mechanisms.
Actually, they can play a zero-time match, as well as have complete control over the game. Check out the paper about it and if you lose a match you can always state the obvious about your opponent "You Cheated!".

So a pass to a "dancing" player will still arrive. * After releasing ball it takes 0.25 seconds until you can use the hammer * Bouncing and deflecting now works flawless * Reduced self-volley-power from 1500 to 1400 * Enemy-Volley-Power in Own Half increased from 1000 to 1600 (when you volley a ball in your own half that was shot by enemy) * DB-Smallcube remade, looking much better, no more spammy roof, it's a little more width. * DB-Bowl new. Basically it's like Cube, just widther (NOT longer). * DB-Touchdown new! It's about carrying the ball into the enemy end zone. The ball alone can't do anything, you have to carry it!

| Xbox and PS2 Modding In Spain |
|
It seems that ppl all around the World are Modding their Xbox and PS2 Consoles to allow them to play DVDs and games from other countries...Well, I'm shocked, I could never imagine that :). But if you do it in Spain, you are not breaking any laws. According to this article that envolves the Guardia Civil, loopholes, but not whips and women in leather boots, "A Spanish judge has ruled that modifications to games consoles to allow them to play DVDs and games from other countries are not illegal."
So, go to Spain, enjoy the weather and buy a Modded console...you are not commiting any crime. :)

Well, when it comes to personal taste, you sure can't discuss it. Yup, you guessed it right...a date with a PS2 :P

Since 1999 that we've been hearing about the Team Fortress Sequel for Half-Life. Although the original TF was designed for Quake ( some still think that it was the best game ever designed, and they are not that far from the truth :P ), "TF2 was to be a stand-alone product, featuring more classes, weapons, and far more sophisticated game types than the original title. But it's been a long wait so far. Very long. What's up with TF2?".

IGDA already issued a document contesting this scenario - "The IGDA sent a letter to CA Assembly member Leland Yee in opposition to Assembly Bills 1792 (redefining harmful matter for minors) and 1793 (content segregation). Additionally, the IGDA send similar letters of opposition to the Arts Committee and Safety Committee, who will be ruling on the bill in April 2004."

| Monkey Island 5 |
|
Not a FPS game but probably the funniest series that ever showed up in the gaming world. "How many wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck would chuck wood ?" is one of many questions that you had to answer, along with winning spitting competitions, facing Largo's Embargo, listen to Murray the talking skull, deal with really polite cannibals and of course, LeChuck.
And according to the news posted in the Monkey Island SCUMM Bar, "Continuing in the vein of unannounced-but-in-the-pipeline games, The Spy's LucasArts informers let the monkey out of the bag: there is, apparently, a fifth Monkey Island game in production. The adventure genre continues to cheat death." which is great news to the MI series fans.

"Crytek, the developers of promising PC FPS Far Cry, had their offices raided by police today after a tip off from a former employee who said they were using pirated development software.

If the claim is found to be true then Crytek could be forced to pay damages of up to six figures in euros, however rumours are circling that the accusation is false and is in fact petty revenge."

There is a new version of the Challenge ProMode Arena modification for Quake 3 Arena. New features and significant changes can be found in this 22MB upgrade package or 82MB for first-time installers pack.
"the introduction of the first new 1v1 gametype in *any* FPS in several years (...) Having CTF become a real game again is a huge bonus, and we've included a couple of CTF maps (the first CPM CTF maps ever) in this release to give people a chance to experience that gameplay in levels that are worthy of it. There are also 4 new DM maps for the 1v1 crowd, including one with a rather familiar name."
