Now that the current year is quickly coming to an end, the Cascais edition of the XLParty was probably the last lanparty in 2008 for our teams. Four groups of K1ck players atending the Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike Source, Unreal Tournament 3 and Gears of War 2 tournaments and a final balance: three first places (CS, UT3 and GoW2) with only 2 maps lost, all games accounted for. Unfortunately, the two maps were lost at the Grand Final of the only second place we had this weekend: CSS.

The K1ck eSports Club will be attending the Lleida LanParty with two teams, Counter-Strike Source and Call Of Duty 4, and the usual staff that goes along with the players. The teams have already made the arrangements in order to travel to Lleida, near Barcelona and have a go at the prize money in dispute.

We have also invited people from the Lan Party organization to answer a few questions about the event and give us an oversight of it all.

Another XLParty is on the way, and some K1ck eSports Club teams are attending the event. The first results are getting through and K1ck secured a 1st and also a 2nd place at the Gears Of War competition, with a Final /< Lourenço vs /< Catamy.

World Cyber Games - 1st in Counter-Strike, 1st in Gears Of War and 1st in Warcraft 3 by /< LastPhoenix, making it 10 players out of 11 on the trip to Seattle.

Futurtech - 1st in Counter-Strike: Source, 1st in Call Of Duty 2 and 2nd in Pro Evolution Soccer 6, winning 2 of the 3 official Lan Party tournaments.

All of this in only 2 days is really special, in a weekend where we split our teams and went to the north and south of Portugal to conquer some more juicy awards to our Achievements section.

K1ck have been invited to represent Portugal at the Packard Bell iPower International Gaming Event that will take place in Lisboa between the 26th and 29th of July at the Santiago Alquimista showroom, sponsored by Packard Bell and Intel among others.

Teams from several countries will compete in a curious tournament that consists of matches in 4 games, namely Quake 4, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Supreme Commander and Battlefield 2142.
